Georgetown City Center Columns
Located in The Light & Waterworks District Plaza, three illuminated 12 ft. H x 3 ft. diameter columns pay tribute to the neighboring historic Light and Waterworks building, borrowing their shape from the building's smokestack. The district symbolizes Georgetown’s ongoing commitment to creating vibrant public spaces and enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors.
The columns are a custom fabrication made of 11-gauge weathering steel with decorative laser-cut slits, backed by white polycarbonate. Each column consists of 3 rolled drums mechanically fastened to a central internal support structure.
Covey Landscape Architects and KPA Engineers designed the plaza. Synergy Commercial Construction was the contractor.
