SEVEN

In 2015, Ion Art was approached by the developer of a luxury apartment building to collaborate on a package for their new complex, SEVEN, located in East Austin. Along with fabricating several custom features around the complex such as grill stations, planters, and fireplaces, we had the opportunity to design a decorative security screen for their bike barn and an awning.

The ground floor awning at SEVEN is suspended from the floor of the second story, and cantilevers out over the residential entrance on 7th Street. It is constructed from polished aluminum tube with a recessed inlay of oiled walnut.
When viewed from below, the illuminated frosted acrylic panels create a number "7", which ties in beautifully with the overall branding identity for the building.
