Seven Sisters

In 2023, Ion Art was privileged to design and install a one-of-a-kind art experience in an actual cave located in Boerne, Texas. The client had recently discovered our neon work and engaged and introduced us to their passion project. Ultimately, our team would be thrilled to bring their vision to life.

Our designers and neon artists worked together to explore possibilities and overcome the unique challenges of the space. Through thought-provoking mood boards, new methods for creating neon templates, and unique lighting controls, we created an awe-inspiring installation that invites guests to embark on an unforgettable visual journey. The hand-painted mural, along with its high-end neon accents and borders, finished off with beautifully decorative metal and neon sculptures, provides a truly immersive and breathtaking experience.

The size of the installation is also worth a mention. This collaborative effort filled about 1,500 SF of the cave’s unique canvas. With each side sized at approximately 40 feet wide and 18 feet tall, this was a major undertaking that required careful planning and phasing. The Ion Art team is very proud of the Seven Sisters Cave project, and we hope to work with them again real soon!
